Panther Island Drainage Studies
A critical component for private development on Panther Island is the proposed canal system, which functions as stormwater detention and floodwater protection. Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) has identified canal improvements that will provide the necessary canal system for initial private development. Drainage Study (DS-25-0127) for Panther Island Canals B Ph II, C PII & D Ph II was approved by the City on February 12, 2026. This approved drainage study also included a Panther Island Storm Drain Appendix, which provides additional guidance for private development drainage study submittals. All developments on Panther Island will be required to submit a separate drainage study to support their individual development project in accordance with DS-25-0127 and City of Fort Worth criteria.
